INTRODUCTION

Our daily lives expose us to hundreds of toxic chemicals from food, water, household products, personal care products, plastics, and air pollution. Exposure to these environmental toxicants wreak havoc on normal metabolic processes that lead to immune dysfunction, neurological disorders, endocrine disruption, certain types of cancer, and beyond.

The TOXDetect Profile is designed to pinpoint your environmental toxicant exposure. This profile measures 19 metabolites utilizing state-of-the-art LC-MS/MS technology, guaranteeing unmatched accuracy and reliability – all from a single urine sample.

WHAT ARE ENVIRONMENTAL TOXICANTS?

Environmental toxicants are substances present in the environment that threaten the health of all living organisms. Whether natural or human-made, these substances infiltrate through industrial activities, pollution, agriculture, and waste disposal.

Exposure to environmental toxicants, whether absorbed, inhaled, or ingested, has been associated with various health issues. Despite the staggering 2000% increase in plastic production from 15 million to 311 million tons between 1964 and 2014, and the annual disease cost burden of $340 billion from endocrine disrupting chemicals, the majority of chemicals remain unassessed for human impact. With over 80,000 chemicals registered in the U.S. under the Toxic Substances Control Act and thousands more introduced annually, it’s essential to identify exposures and mitigate their health impacts through testing.

WHY TEST?

Identifying and removing environmental toxicant exposure is fundamental to achieving comprehensive and lasting health outcomes for patients. The TOXDetect Profile is specifically designed to assess for exposure to various toxicants that can cause or contribute to chronic diseases. It equips healthcare practitioners with the ability to identify the underlying causes of toxicity and develop informed and personalized treatment plan for detoxification and healing.

TREATMENT FOR ENVIRONMENTAL TOXICANT EXPOSURE

All environmental toxicant exposures are basically treated the same, although personalized support can be tailored to the individual when Nutrigenomic Evaluation and Organic Acids Test results are available.

1) Remove the person from exposure by moving or remediating the home, school, or office.

Exposure to environmental toxicants is sadly very common.   They are used in hundreds of products, including toys, food packaging, shampoo, vinyl flooring, automobile exhaust, cigarette smoke, paints, varnish, rust preventives, and shellac, and more.  The first step toward improving health is by reducing exposure to the toxicants to the greatest extent possible.

2) Improve the body's ability to remove or excrete toxicants.

Biotransformation refers to the internal pathways the body uses to "detox" from environmental toxicants.  Phase 1 and Phase 2 detoxification pathway support should be prioritized to help in the removal and excretion of environmental toxicants.

3) Reduce stress.

Stress comes in many forms.  Working with a good holistic practitioner to reduce other physiological stress is extremely important when environmental toxicants are contributing to your symptoms.

DETAILS OF THE TOXDetect PROFILE SAMPLE

The TOXDetect Profile is a urine test. The specimen requirement is the first morning urine sample: 10 ml of urine. Since this is a urine test, a patient can combine this test with other urine tests such as the Organic Acids Test and the Glyphosate Test (contact LFHC for any test not available online).

The results of this test, along with a LFHC Nutrigenomic Evaluation and an Organic Acids Test are extremely valuable in helping people find the path to a healthier life.  If you or a loved one continues to suffer with symptoms, contact our office or your trusted holistic practitioner for guidance.

Additionally, personal information, such as: Full Name, DOB, Gender, & Home Address are required for testing. **Not available for delivery or testing in the State of New York.
